Michelin opened its 110th TYREPLUS branch in the GCC on 20th March, 2016 in the Al Nakheel area of Ras Al Khaimah. This is Michelin’s 28th outlet in the United Arab Emirates and first in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah and is franchised to Central Trading Company that operates ten TYREPLUS branches across Dubai and the northern emirates.
The new branch comes at the backdrop of a strong sales performance in 2015. By the end of 2015, total turnover from the TYREPLUS network grew at a sturdy 40% across its GCC operations, when compared to the same period in 2014. The total volume sales growth for tyres was recorded at 20%, whereas the car maintenance line witnessed a growth of 28% in sales. TYREPLUS opened 16 more outlets for business by end of 2015.
The launch event was attended by Manish Pandey, TYREPLUS Franchise Manager; Mohamed Aqel General Manager Central Trading Company – an affiliate of Al Rostamani group and official importer of Michelin tyres in Dubai & northern emirates; Franck Barge, Distribution Manager for Michelin Africa India & Middle East; and Loubna Lafouiri, TYREPLUS consultant.
Expanding on the company’s strategic outlook, Manish Pandey, TYREPLUS Franchise Manager for Michelin AIM, said: “UAE is an integral market for our regional success. Ras Al Khaimah is fast emerging as a hotspot for commerce, as evidenced by a recent report by RAK Chamber of Commerce that registered an increase in the number of business licenses issued in 2015 by 8% compared to 2014.
